About Your Insurance

There are two types of health insurance that will help pay for your eye care services and eyewear. You may have both types and we accept many plans in both categories. Vision plans, such as VSP and EyeMed for example, and medical insurance such as Medicare, Blue Cross and Aetna.

Vision plans cover routine vision exams, many times with added benefits for glasses or contacts. Vision plans do not cover medical eye care, such as the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma or retinal disease for example.

Insurance can be very difficult to understand. We will contact your insurance company before your appointment to obtain your current coverage for exams and eyewear. We are happy to explain your plan’s contributions and apply it to your needs.

Medical Insurance Must be Used for Medical Eyecare

If you have both types, we may bill some services to one plan, some services to the other. We will coordinate the two plans to minimize your out of pocket expenses.
