Dr. Kirk Thompson is one of the first optometric physicians on the Olympic Peninsula to become Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Fewer than 10% of optometrists in the United States have earned this prestigious certification.
In addition, he is an active member of the Contact Lens Association of Optometrists, the American Optometric Association, the Washington Association of Optometric Physicians, and a former president of the Peninsula Optometric Society. Dr. Thompson did his undergraduate work at Utah State University and then completed his optometry degree at Southern California College of Optometry in 1978.
Dr. Thompson is proud to celebrate 30 years of practicing full scope optometry on the Olympic Peninsula providing treatment and management of eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
By utilizing the latest technology combined with a well trained and educated staff, Dr. Thompson is able to deliver exceptional eye care. Always seeking to increase his knowledge, he is dedicated to continuing education and committed to his patients, doing everything possible to keep their eyes healthy and seeing well.
Dr. Thompson is also an avid outdoorsman and enjoys skiing, hunting, backpacking and golf. He and his wife Maureen have four children and 10 grandchildren.
